On ehants, I grabbed this off of WoWHead’s SSG page bause Iouldn’t have said it better: rursiverequiem wrote:omparing this to Swordshattering– it is, as the previous er mentioned, immune to DR. so it’s always 3% avoidae and 2% stam. Sword shattering is also immune to DR and will always provide 4% more parry. Something to keep in mind is Rune Strike tivates when you dodge or parry, but *not* when you’re missed–so Sword Shattering is very slightly superior for threat generation bause it adds a 4%hae to tivate rune strike versus gargoyle’s 2%. However, gargoyle provides you with 2% stam, whh for my DK (28.4k health unbuffed) is an extra 300 health–adding in raid buffs, thisould be a ne extra health buffer. It also allows you some flexibility with itemization if you don’t want to use it past the softap. Personally, I’m going to stk with sword shattering as at my level of gear (full naxx 10) 1% avoidae and a bit of extra threat is worth more than 2% extra stam, but I wish I had cess to this when I was gearing up. Personally, after rehing 540 defense, I would take SS over SSG most days. 30K health unbuffed would be like 60 additional Stamina. With raid buffs, this bomes more attrtive. But I would still prefer 2% mitigation and ireased threat over 1% mitigation and 2% Stamina. There is nothing wrong with using SSG. But it lks any quality that makes it a must-have if you are urittable. It is perftly fine to use either one eept in the strtest of maxmin situations. One note, though. Frost gets more out of SSG than any other sp in the form of ireased mitigation while IBF is tive. But, 40 defense shouldn’t be enough to make any signifant differee.
